The Fishing The fishing on will be on middle and upper beats of the Tweed. The party will fish on beats 2 middle and upper alternating round so everybody fishes all the beats twice in the week. This gives every body a chance to catch fish whatever the state of the river. Tim Gaunt-Baker a highly qualified casting instructor, with over twenty-five years salmon fishing experience, will be on hand to teach the use of a double-handed rod, Spey casting, roll casting and advanced techniques for the more experienced fisherman. Equipment Fishing at this time of the year is by fly only and it is recommended that you bring a 15’ rod as well as chest waders. A selection of tubes, waddingtons and doubles & trebles would also be useful. The wading on this beat is good but bring a wading stick if you use one. (It is also advisable to bring a thermos flask for coffee or soup at lunchtime.) |

Accomodation You will be staying at the Tontine Hotel in Peebles. This charming hotel, with it’s comfortable en-suite rooms, is a family owned Hotel It sits in the town’s high street and it’s quaint cobbled yard provides plenty of room for parking. The Tontine is just a short drive to the River Tweed. |
